The coast around the seaside village Bali is jagged and sparsely populated. Steep cliffs encircle this homely bathing location and the panorama is impressive. The coastal village of Bali is located between the cities of Rethymnon and Heraklion in northern Crete. From Bali to the capital Heraklion it is only 53 km approx. 55 minutes´ drive. It is about 30 km to the City of Rethymnon. 36 minutes´ drive. Bali has sandy beaches therefore popular with families but above all the short airport transfer is the selection criterion for families to choose this location.
The panorama is impressive. The hotels and apartments are located near the small port. Many have a beautiful view of the bay. Many keenly priced family-freindly-hotels in Bali offer all inclusive for families. Water sports such as surfing, water skiing and canoeing are also offeredin Bali.
Rethymnon, Heraklion, the Arkadi Monastery, Knossos and much more. Good bus connections from Bali to western and eastern Crete make it possible to visit Rethymnon and Heraklion without a rental car. In season there is also a boat tour to Rethymnon. But the place Bali is less recommended for enterprising guests, as the distances to many sights and Crete- Highlights (nature reserves) are just too far. As Bali is a keenly priced destination it suites to make a hotel-hopping with to hotels.
