Zante

The island of Zante ( Zakynthos) is one of the Ionian Islands in opposite the mainland Peloponnese. The port city and capital city Zakynthos, with around 10,000 inhabitants, stretches like a sickle around the waterfront Solomos Square and is the most important trading center on the island. The natural harbor is west of the city. The Venetian fortress and the Bochali district are located around the harbor hills. Zakynthos is located 10 km west of the mainland Kyllini (Peloponnese).

The most popular beaches of Zante/ Zakynthos are Tsilivi, including Agios Nikolaos and Alykanas, offering swimming and water sports facilities. The famous sandy beach with the shipwreck "Navagio" can be reached by boat. This bay is surrounded by cliffs.
